The factory inspection is also known as an “audit”.

Factory inspection represents the assessment carried out by the certification body as to inspect whether the COP control system of the manufacturer or production enterprise could meet the certification requirements. The initial factory inspection shall be performed by means of COP control plan examination plus on-site factory inspection for COP. In principles, the initial factory inspection shall be accomplished within one year after the satisfactory completion of type test; failing that, it shall re-undergo the type test of product.
In case that no non-conformity is discovered, then the inspection result shall be deem
ed satisfactory;

If factory inspection suffers non-conformities, rectifications may be carried out, while the certification body shall take proper means to verify the rectification results.

The rectification time shall not exceed 3 months; incase the rectification cannot be winded up within the time limit or the rectification results fail, then the inspection result shall be deemed unsatisfactory.

If the implementation of the COP control plan deviates largely from the COP control plan, or the structure and parameters of the actually manufactured product run serious inconsistent with the type test sample, then the inspection result shall be deemed unsatisfactory.

Given unsatisfactory inspection result, the current session of certification shall be terminated.

The factory inspection shall be performed after the type test. However, in most cases the type test can be performed parallel or even after the factory inspection. The certification consignor has to contact the certification organization for agreement.
